LG takes out 2.2mm thick Full HD LCD ultra slim panel for Smartphones.LG Display has introduced an ultra-slim full HD panel for smartphones. Touted as the 'world's slimmest full HD panel' for mobile devices, the display measures 5.2-inch diagonally, and is 2.2mm in thickness with a 2.3mm bezel.
The panel boasts of resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, consisting of Red, Green, Blue (RGB) sub-pixels. The display delivers 535 nits of brightness with the contrast ratio coming in at 3.74:1 based on 10,000 lux.
In addition to slimmer design and lighter weight, the company says its new LCD panel will help develop a phone with “better grip-ability” along with an improved viewing experience, as compared to previous displays.LG Display reveals key to its slimmest panel is Advanced One-Glass-Solution (OGS), which has been developed and applied to the new panel for the first time ever.
The panel features Dual Flexible Printed circuits – inserted between the panel and touch film. According to LG, this helps reduce the number of lines on the panel by more than 30 percent. LG has applied a 'direct bonding system' to achieve Optical Clear Resin between the panel and touch film for greater brightness.
